Josh Ellwanger

IPFS General Counsel

As General Counsel, Josh Ellwanger leads IPFS’s legal affairs, litigation recovery, and human resources functions, ensuring the company operates with integrity, compliance, and strategic foresight. His guidance supports organizational growth while protecting the interests of agents, brokers, and policyholders.  

Josh joined IPFS in 2016, bringing extensive legal and operational experience. Prior to joining the company, he spent eight years in private practice specializing in litigation and five years at H&R Block, most recently serving as Assistant General Counsel.  

Josh holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Northern Iowa and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law.
