IPFS traces its roots to 1977, when Tom Charbonneau and four associates founded Premium Financing Specialists (PFS) in Kansas City. Tom believed that people do business with people, a principle that still guides our operations today.
Under his leadership, PFS became the fourth largest premium financing company in the U.S. Later, PFS merged with Imperial Credit Corporation (ICC), creating what is now Imperial PFS (IPFS).
Unlike many other organizations in our space, IPFS remains family-owned, not bank owned to this day. That independence keeps us close to our core mission and gives us the flexibility to deliver services other companies may not be able to. With decades of experience and a relentless focus on our clients, we’ve built IPFS into a market leader trusted across North America.
